WARNING: Some People Find #Hashtags Annoying

A #Hashtag is a way for people to group words and phrases in their status updates on Social Networks. They allow users to search for Tweets and Facebook posts that have a common topic or theme and to start a conversation.

To insert a #Hashtag, you prefix a word using the number sign (#), for instance #Hashtag. When you do this, you create a hyperlink of the word or phrase, and when you click it you can see who else is talking about these words and phrases in their status updates.

Twitter and Instagram users are familiar with #Hashtags as they've been used for quite sometime on these social networks. #Hashtags on Facebook is relatively new, and many Facebook users are not familiar with what they are or how to use them.

Many people find #Hashtags annoying because they don't know what they are and find them confusing, while some find them annoying when others constantly over use #Hashtags in their posts.
